Review the structure and management of the container management function in order to develop an improvement strategy to reduce costs and improve asset utilisation.
What we did
Collaborated with a leading strategic development consultancy firm to engage client staff in value stream mapping the current business, identify bottlenecks and opportunities to reduce complexity, and produce a blueprint for the improved future state, with supporting benefits calculations and business plans.
Result
Delivered a solution to optimise the asset management function which included a new operational model, optimised logistics, systems, network structure, and business case supporting annual savings of c£3m per year over five years.
